We welcome back Chro-Mag to the label with his second release - Innervision. This is a three track exploration towards deep and progressive house music, with elements of techno underlying.
Opening with a pulse like bass and swirling atmosphere set the tone in the title track, 'Innervision'. With the rich vocal stabs soaring above a percussive beat. The whole track rolls along through beautiful phases of the arrangement. With shimmering pads dancing and sweeping through the track, continually enriching the euphoric vibe of this first track.
Second, we have 'Lost In Reflection'. We are introduced to driving drums and a deep bassline from the start, but are soon drawn into reflective ambience with the introduction of the dreamy keys and fleeting pads move around the soundscape. All before making way for an upbeat arpeggiated riff which weaves and ducks as it compliments the strings and delicate guitar riffs.
The EP closes with 'Shards Of Tear'. A deep, measured beat and sweeping percussion open out into a vast sonic space filled with ice like chimes and breathing pads. The drums quicken the pace slightly before making way for a swelling synth which carries along to the contemplative climax of this impressive track.
Chro-Mag shows more diversity across this record and draws on the different sub genres of house and techno styles of music.
