"Violynx" is the debut EP of Brooklyn producer and violinist commodore commodore, who fuses organic and electronic elements through 4 deeply introspective, yet hard-hitting, global bass tracks. Taking cues from artists like CloZee, commodore commodore sonically transports her listeners through centuries of eastern and western styles of music, with each track focusing on a different stringed instrument and playing style.
The EP draws inspiration from her experience living in Japan as a young child, her love of playing violin, and her deep passion for the electronic scene, as both a producer and DJ. Though she struggled with injury throughout the making of the EP, these physical limitations made way for deeper creative exploration, with music providing a much-needed outlet for self-expression.
