We introduce Ghost Intent to Sub-Label Recordings - White, with the superb Distances EP. The idea for the whole 'Distances EP' was to use music to motion as the main concept driving the tracks in the EP.

Opening with Notion, a track that has a dense atmospheric layer to it to begin with which is then layered with a driving beat, a reverberating bass line and elements like bells. Other organic elements float through the space of the track like ions. The track exemplifies the state of being when you get the notion to leave familiar surroundings for an adventure, when you're brimming with excitement and ready to go.

"I've always made impulsive, last minute trips to different destinations where I just decided to go and packed my bags and left to catch the next train. Notion is the soundtrack to your next notion to pack your bags and travel."

Secondly, Flow, which is full of power. The state of being in full motion and flowing just like a train does, galloping on the tracks, raging forward. The journeys I've taken by Indian rail were the inspiration for this track. Flow has some beats in overdrive like the state of being in full flow, just like a train bursting down the track. The elements of the track like the broken violin in the beginning and layers of atmospheric pads and pulsating beats define the motion of flowing from one form and space to the next. It's a track that is made for when you're attuned in tandem with your natural surroundings, and flowing, moving ahead, moving forward, with purpose and with a relentless demeanour at high speed. The speed and power of the track typify the motion of flowing through spaces.

Finally closing the EP with Adrift. This track is based on the Parvati River in Parvati Valley, Himachal Pradesh, India. The track has a thick enveloping bass- line and some downtuned guitars and atmospheric elements signifying the calm flow of the river. The drift of the river is something that soothes you and keeps you following her currents and flowing with the tide. The darker undertones of the piano parts depict the Parvati river at night, under the star studded clear skies of Parvati valley. Adrift is just following the flow of the river down the valley to wherever. It's for being adrift in thoughts and being one with her motion and with her currents.
